MK4MDD

Cell Report

Basic Information
Name pyramidal neuron
Description Projection neurons in the cerebral cortex and the hippocampus. Pyramidal cells have a pyramid-shaped soma with the apex and an apical dendrite pointed toward the pial surface and other dendrites and an axon emerging from the base. The axons may have local collaterals but also project outside their cortical region.

pyramidal neurons Stockmeier, 2004 patients and normal controls The density of granule cells and glia in the dentate gyrus a...... The density of granule cells and glia in the dentate gyrus and pyramidal neurons and glia in all cornv ammonis (CA)/hippocampal subfields is significantly increased by 30%-35% in MDD. The average soma size of pyramidal neurons is significantly decreased in MDD More...
pyramidal Miguel-Hidalgo, 2005 patients and normal controls The packing density and somal size of NF200-immunoreactive (...... The packing density and somal size of NF200-immunoreactive (IR) pyramidal neurons were measured in area 9 in 13 subjects with nonpsychotic MDD, More...
pyramidal Rajkowska, 2005 patients and normal controls The overall (layers I-VI) packing density of ORB neurons wit...... The overall (layers I-VI) packing density of ORB neurons with pyramidal morphology was markedly decreased in MDD (by 30%) as compared with control subjects. More...
pyramidal cell Iritani, 2006 animal model The results showed more VMAT2-immunoreactive varicose fibers...... The results showed more VMAT2-immunoreactive varicose fibers in the pyramidal cell layer of hippocampus and parahippocampal cortexes, and more intense 5HTT-immunoreactivity in the pyramidal cell layer and the area CA4 of hippocampus in the animal models of depression compared to those of the controls. On the other hand, lower density of 5HT1a-immunoreactive deposits in the pyramidal cell layer of hippocampus and the parahippocampal cortex was observed in the animal models of depression compared to those of the controls. More...

2. User can drag the nodes to rearrange the layout of the network. Click the node will enter the report page of the node. Right-click will show also the menus to link to the report page of the node and remove the node and related edges. Hover the node will show the level of the node and hover the edge will show the evidence/description of the edge.
