The polymorphisms showing the highest nominal associations with major depression and treatment response were located in the IGF1R gene on chromosome 15 (rs4966044, p=0.003) and in in the FOXO3 region on chromosome 6 (rs579702, p=0.002), respectively. Interestingly, three SNPs located in the FOXO3 region were nominally associated with disease susceptibility as well as antidepressant treatment response: rs17069826, rs17069835, and rs578889 (see Supplementary Tables 1 and 2). The polymorphisms reported in the genome-wide study for IGF-I levels (Wang et al., 2014) showed no significant association with major depression or treatment response in our analyses and thus could not be directly linked to these depression phenotypes.More...
